D.O.B.: 13/02/2020 Pari was found crying near the body of her dead mother. She was desperately trying to suckle from her, though her mom lay flat on the road after ingesting too much plastic & garbage. Pari is strong, but still misses her mother. D.O.B.: 11/11/2020 Sanjana came to the WAG Shelter with multiple wounds on her legs & back. She was hit by a speeding car after which she lay on the road for more than 24 hours before she was rescued. However, Sanjana is now doing well & almost fully recovered. D.O.B.: 03/02/2021 Krishna arrived at WAG when he was only 1 week old. His mother sadly passed away & we found Krishna crying in the middle of a highway, looking for someone to comfort him. D.O.B.: 25/10/2020 Vishnu was the first calf we rescued who suffered from Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD). He was covered in scabs from nose to hoof, some of which were infected with maggots. D.O.B.: 12/05/2020 Born at the WAG GoShala, Sadia's mother Yashoda was rescued with a large maggot wound on her hoof. It is hard to believe the pain she went through being pregnant, hungry & injured on the busy streets of Goa. Both mom & baby are now perfectly healthy & loving life! D.O.B.: 05/10/2018 Lily suffered from a broken hind-leg after being run over by a truck. She lay in the pouring rain, helpless & without her herd. Luckily, she was brought to WAG, but the extent of her injuries were too great. D.O.B.: 23/05/2018 RECYCLE, RECYCLE, RECYCLE! Cuckoo was found with a tin can wrapped around her foot. She had grown into it, with the sharp metal cutting into her foot. By the time she was rescued, her wound was infected & covered in maggots. She is now happy & healthy, completely healed & living her #bestlife at the WAG GoShala. D.O.B.: 26/09/2014 Champa was rescued from the streets after suffering for many years with infected teats. Sadly her owner did not care enough to treat her, nor did he want help from WAG. However, after much perseverance we rescued Champa who is now healthy & living her best life. She enjoys getting bum rubs, eating cabbage leaves other greens. Unfortunately, she had to watch her family being killed in front of her, a horrific image that lasted in her mind for a few months. D.O.B.: 17/03/2016 Marley was rescued with severe mange & a broken leg. His skin looked like that of an elephant, hard, grey & full of scabs. After only a few weeks of treatment Marley started to grow his hair back & turned into a handsome boy! He is a very friendly, happy dogs who loves walks on the beach & lots of cuddles. D.O.B.: 09/09/2018 Dot-Dot was found with a severe case of mange. She represented a hairless chicken, or rat, & we even suspected that she was blind from an eye infection. However, she responded extremely well to her medical treatment & has grown into a beautiful, gentle dog. She still seeks a home to call her own. WAG currently takes care of 120 animals on a daily basis. These range from turkeys, chickens, goats, dogs, cats, cows & other birds. Every day our dedicated staff look after these rescues , where they will spend the rest of their lives, safe & warm at our Sanctuary. With so many animals under our care, but with limited resources & funding, we need YOUR HELP in ensuring they get the best medical care & food.
